Over the years GRTIET has developed a distinctive style and method that bridges the division between theory and practice, yet remaining grounded to the core. The department is committed to the free software and open source movements, as typified by Linux.
The Civil Engineering department has been imparting knowledge in General Engineering Concepts and Studies in Civil Engineering. Beyond these basics, the study of Engineering Mechanics, Solid Mechanics, Environmental Engineering and Sciences are taught from year one through the final year of study.

Manufacturing Engineering integrates highly diverse and exciting technologies and disciplines, such as design, robotics, micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS), manufacturing systems and control, and green manufacturing, into a comprehensive educational program.

Biomedical engineering is a field that integrates Medical science and Engineering. The branch deals with the application of electronic, pneumatic and mechanical instruments in medical science applications. This field seeks to bridge the gap between engineering and medicine.
